Today I take it easy

The cute trail and its marvalous bed were great. I really want to build one in Canada. Insulate the floors and walls, keep the same bed style, tiny Colman stole and maybe a kerosene heater and I'm set. If ma and pa let me I could even put it next to their cabin :D Because we practically live together now, why not cabin together too!

Today I slept a little longer in the morning then I do when I'm in my tent. Got up, ate some bread and crawled back in bed for a few more minutes :)

Then I headed to the closest town only a few km away, Menaldum. I biked around sight seeing. They have a canal too! I'm starting to think canals are mandatory in all towns. I was looking for a grocery store and a bank. The owner of the camping site said that the grocery store could give me back money and since I hadn't seen a bank, I thought I'd try that first.

I wandered all around the grocery store first just looking. I love that they sell beer and wine there. I picked up a little something for lunch (tomato soup), pasta and salami for supper and a Dutch herring to go with beer later!
I wanted to use my spork! Mug has beer :)

I noticed at the lotto counter there was an ING sign so I decided to ask there about getting money. No luck but the lady was very helpful. She even called her manager over to ask him if he knew where I could go and even when they were talking to each other about me, they spoke English. I think that is soooo polite. And much appreciated. I can honestly say, I don't even think French Canadians would do the same. And I'm not sure if I'm angier about that or sadder. The lady told me where the ATM was in town but wasn't sure if it would work there. Thankfully it did.

I took a few pics of menaldum for you to see the cute brick roads and speed bumps and I even took a pic of the modern windmills.

But first a grocery store pic :p The Dutch love black licorice. I do not however.

Menaldum (google made it pretty)

That is a no poop here sign

Time to plan another few days!
