37km closer to Groningen

This morning I was later starting than usual. I probably didn't leave until 9:15. There was a think layer of dew on everything when I woke up and I was waiting for the sun to get a little higher to burn some of it off. I packed up the bike and headed towards the next campsite. No cute ferries or trailers today.

I took the google route that brought me through towns and not just hiway. So there were several small towns. Don't worry, I did find a grocery store in one to pick up supplies (beer and that dip/spread/potato salad stuff).

I'm never as fast as google wants me to be because I look at their houses and stuff as I ride through the towns. For instance, I have seen 3 robot lawn mowers so far. I moo at cows (I think its only English speaking cows that moo back) and I baaa at sheep (they are all Dutch and don't care for my English baaa-ing). I look at the houses. I haven't seen a bad part of town or a rough part of town or a poor part of town. It all looks nice. One town today was very nice. Well groomed hedges. Seemed more fancy than other towns. If its straight going for several kms I'm good. Even then I'll probably check my tablet several times to make sure I haven't made a wrong turn, which does happen!

So for today not much stands out. I didn't aggrivate a Dutch person. I followed a granny, well because if she can make it through a round about, so can I! And now I've befriended a cat named Taylor.

I'm ~25 from Groningen which is where I plan on spreading the weekend. This site is empty so far but maybe its early. I've been told that this time of year is more for retirees and not so many families. Its surrounded by farm land and there is a horse about 30ft away. The daughter in law checked me in and she was very nice. One of the few people that actually asked where I'm from and why I'm here. I always just say because it's flat and if you haven't biked before, flat is a good place to start!

Taylor is cuddled up beside me, I've got my beer and I'm looking forward to the weekend :)
