Hostelle

Yup you read that right, hostelle. Its a females only hostel located south east ish to downtown Amsterdam and its very girlie!

That's just the common room! Most people were gone when I arrived so it meant I had the showers to myself. I'm in a 4 person room on a top bunk. I pity the little girl on the bottom bunk!

So far I've learned that both Condor and Lufthansa have several things to teach air Canada! First condors in flight safety video was hilarious and informative. It had cameos by Elvis, astronauts, Marilyn , Paris, and it was still informative in both German and again in English! Lufthansa has basically put in to action what every frequent flier complains about. Boarding has become a race! Sure there was the women with children and rich people first but then... There were two gates. Everyone lines up in front of the gates and as quickly as possible, you scan your own boarding card, gate opens, you walk through to plane. The flight from Frankfurt to Amsterdam wasn't full. So the flight attendant wasn't even concerned with were we sat!

And they even gave me the best sandwich I may have ever had! Kinda ate it before I took the pic so you only get the wrapper!

I then followed all the signs to get my bag. Neat little videos demonstrated what would need to be declared and what didn't. Since I didn't really have anything on the list, I walked on through but I don't really think there was a difference in the lines. So no Dutch stamp :(

Next problem became finding train, getting ticket, getting right train, getting off at right stop and then walking to the hostel. First the ticket machine didn't like my card so I had to get in the line with real people. That went OK. I somehow made it to the right track by no effort of my own! I stood on the right part of the track cuz I had that much figured out and my train was the next to arrive. Two stops later and I was there.

Well not there. That's the first stop.

So now I'm sitting in the lounge watching Bridgette Jones!

Better adventures tomorrow.
