Packed!

Well if managing to pack everything I need/want into my back pack counts as a success, than I have had success and that is a lovely way to start a trip!

I even think it weighs less than 50lbs! Which is great for the few times I have to carry it on my back but more importantly great for checked baggage requirements!

I've got my little tent, sleeping bag, some clothes, bike panniers, protein bars (I got them cheap at Costco, don't judge!), and odds and ends. I'm sure I'll blog about all of it at some point. Hopefully the posts are more "yay I'm so glad I packed that" and less "omg why did I pack that!".

Now I wait for my flights. The journey starts at home, Irishtown Newfoundland to the airport in Deer Lake Newfoundland. Since I live on an island, half the battle in going anywhere is just getting off the island! I'm flying to Halifax with air Canada. Then I get to wait around there for awhile before getting my flight to Frankfurt Germany with condor airlines. I might be totally unprepared but I was smart enough to make my layover in Frankfurt long enough to allow me to get to the next gate with plenty of time. Yay me.

More on the smart but unprepared theme. I did get travel insurance and I did book a hostel for a few nights in Amsterdam and my bike may or may not be booked too!

Fingers crossed. Hopefully my English/German/French broken language skills come in handy.

Step 3: Arrive in Amsterdam... Followed by, make it to hostel and get sim card.

Don't worry, there will be more posts. I get bored easy ;)
